Our Training
The Training Courses outlined here are some of the best in the field. We pride ourselves in that. Furthermore, we offer the areas only training in the Tradition of Usui Reiki Ryoho. This is extremely important to understand. Your investment in your Reiki education depends on it.
Our training is professionally designed to teach you each level over the course of a 1 month period of time. You will receive 40 hours of training per level. Courses include Power Point presentations, lectures, practical and written homework, weekly testing and Certification. You will receive an exclusive TJRS Training manual for each level as well as an audio CD. You will be supported throughout the course by experienced, real-world teachers who will take the time to answer any questions that you may have. This support continues on after your course experience has ended.
It is a fact that our Level 1 Students have a more solid understanding of Traditional Japanese Reiki than most Western Reiki 'masters' out there today. You will learn a great deal of information from these courses. In addition, the information that you will learn will be based on historically accurate and culturally congruent material. It is not loaded with 'new age' filler like a lot of Western styles of Reiki.
We are committed to providing you with the very best education that you will find. This is because we are passing along a Tradition that you will be a part of and grow with. This is a life long path, not a weekend class.

Signing Up For Training
Sigh up online: If you would like to use a charge card to pay for Reiki training, you may do so using the Paypal link below.
Sign up in-person: You may also sign up for classes at the location where they are offered. If you sign up in person we can only accept checks or cash. A 25%
non-refundable deposit will be required at the time of sign up. The balance for the class will be due on the day of the first class.
For ALL COURSES: You MUST sign up for a course at least 3 days before the first day of the first class. Failure to do so will automatically place you in the next scheduled class.
Shoden - Level 1
The Shoden Level 1 training is the most difficult of the 3 Usui Reiki Ryoho levels. You will learn Reiki history, meditation, philosophy, ethics, and hand healing. The course is taught over a 1 month period of time, meeting 1 day a week in a class-room setting. Throughout the week, the student will be responsible for reading, written, and practical homework assignments. Each week after the first, students will be given a written test to determine their comprehension. A score of >70% and perfect attendance is needed to pass the course.

Okuden - Level 2
The Okuden Level 2 training is a continuation of Shoden Level 1. It includes the Okuden Zenkai and Okuden Koki levels combined. The student will learn more medtation skills and specific hand healing techniques. Also taught are more advanced Reiki healing practices to be learned with and without using Reiki symbols. The course is taught over a 1 month period of time, meeting 1 day a week in a class-room setting. Throughout the week, the student will be responsible for reading, written, and practical homework assignments. Each week after the first, students will be given a written test to determine their level of comprehension. A score of >70% and perfect attendance is needed to pass the course.

Shinpiden/Shihan - Level 3
Level 3 is a combined course, teaching Shinpiden (highest level) along with Shihan (teacher). The Shinpiden level teaches the more esoteric teachings of Usui Reiki Ryoho. The student will receive the final Reiki symbol. Topics covered at this level include: our relationship to the universe. The deeper meaning of mudras and mantras, Working with the Reiki symbols and why they are not important.
The Shihan level prepares the student to become the teacher. At this level, the student learns how to pass along the empowerment ceremony, course structure, and conducting an effective Reiki course.
The course is taught until the student shows proficiency with being able to teach a course. The teacher and student will meet 1 day a week in a class-room setting. Throughout the week, the student will be responsible for reading, written, and practical homework assignments. Passing the course depends on the students proficiency and overall knowledge of the Tradition.

PLEASE NOTE: TJRS Teachers will not teach Levels 2 or 3 if the student has not trained with the TJRS in the previous level(s) first.
If you have studied Reiki from another school or teacher, you MUST start at level 1 if you want formal training in Usui Reiki Ryoho
through the TJRS. Experience has shown that what you will get as far as training from TJRS far exceeds what you've learned from other schools and teachers out there.
Because each level builds on the last, if you've had previous training from another school and tried to continue your training through us,
you would find that you were not taught the essential core body of knowledge necessary to do so. Simply, trying to integrate what you've
learned elsewhere with what we have to offer does not work.
