Reiki Therapy

Welcome to the TJRS!

The TJRS is the areas only school of Reiki to practice Traditional Japanese Reiki Hand Healing as it was taught by Usui Mikao almost 100 years ago.

For those seeking Reiki therapy, one should know that today's Reiki world is filled with a great deal of misinformation. A lot of the Reiki healing offered today by other schools and practitioners do not have a basis in Traditional Japanese Reiki. Most Western schools of Reiki ascribe to some form of new-age healing methods. This is not to say that what they are doing isn't effective on some level, it just isn't Reiki hand healing based on the original practices poineered by Usui Mikao. If you are looking for authentic Reiki hand healing, contact the TJRS today.

The TJRS has preserved these original hand healing methods and is offering them for the betterment of your overall health and well being.

Reiki Hand Healing

The Origins

The Reiki hand healing that we know today began life as something called Teate (tay-ah-tay'). Teate is a 2000 year old hand healing practice with roots found in Ancient folk Shinto healing methods. When Teate was introduced to the Usui school, the basis for its practice was combined with the spiritual / philosophical methods of Usui Mikao. Kiko (Japanese Chi Gung) healing methods were later introduced to solidify the practice.

Reiki Therapy

Traditional Reiki hand healing works to promote homeostasis within a client. Usui Mikao said that there was no difference between the giving and receiving of Reiki, meaning that true Reiki hand healing creates a space whereby the practitioner and client share the common experience of harmony and balance. This realization affords the client the ability to move beyond dis-ease and self imposed limitations, allowing the receipient to let go, move through and heal their issues.

Reiki hand healing has been used to treat every known illness from bee-stings to broken bones, infertility to headaches, cancer to depression, muscle soreness to diaper rash. Reiki compliments other healing modalities and promotes positive healing outcomes for post surgery patients. There are no adverse side effects to Reiki and it can be effectively used for people who are taking medication or chemotherapy.

Reiki hand healing may be effectively used to treat mental / emotional dis-ease, though for those with severe psychosis Reiki is not recommended. Reiki is an effective way to reduce stress, ease depression and calm anxiety and fear. Reiki hand healing may be used to promote emotional release, whereby the energy or emotional impact of past traumatic events may be reduced or eliminated.

Reiki hand healing is an all natural healing modality. It does not use some mystical power or energy commonly reported by Western Reiki media. Reiki may be enjoyed by anyone of any faith, any gender or any age.

A Reiki Treatment - What It Looks Like

A typical Reiki Treatment will begin with the client completing a client intake form and conducting a client interview with the practitioner. During this time, the practitoner will establish the goal of the session with the client. Depending on the practitioners field of expertise, other therapies may be recommend to be used in conjunction with the Reiki hand healing during the session. Once the client and practitoner agree upon the approach of the therapy, the client will lay on a massage table fully clothed while the Reiki practitioner moves around the client, providing a safe, light touch to areas of the body. During this time, the client is encouraged to relax. Clients may experience varying degrees of warmth or coolness coming from the practitioners hands. Clients may experience feeling comfortably light or heavy during the session. It is not uncommon for clients to fall alseep during the session as well.

After the session, clients most commonly report that they feel peaceful for days after the session. Typically, clients report that their pain and dis-ease has subsided. Rarely, seemingly true miracles can occur from a Reiki treatment. Unlike massage, Reiki hand healing is a gentle, subtle modality. It works in a way that compliments and supports the client as a unique individual.
