My name is Jeff Greenwald & I’ve been involved with alternative therapies all of
my life. I am a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist & a Nationally Certified
Bodyworker (NCBTMB). I am an active member of The American Massage
Therapy Association. My education involves 1200+ hrs of training with both
professional and traditional schools and teachers; class room and real world
experience; but most importantly, a lot of practical, hands-on application of
bodywork.
I have had basic and advanced professional training in anatomy, physiology,
pathology, ethics, and the application of massage and bodywork from: The
Pittsburgh School of Massage Therapy, Stonebridge College, The Institute for
Integrative Healthcare Studies, CCAC, & Kaunas Medical Clinic – Kaunas,
Lithuania.
I enjoy writing articles on Alternative Therapies for the Pittsburgh City Paper, as
well as other publications & web sites.
My involvement with Reiki goes back over 12 years time as both a teacher and
practitioner. I am a Reiki Master Teacher in Usui Shiki Ryoho and a Shihan /
Shinpiden in the Usui Reiki Ryoho Tradition. I am the founder & head instructor
of The Traditional japanese Reiki Society and teach a variety of alternative
therapies.
I have a unique approach to my bodywork and to Reiki in that I’ve grown up with
Eastern culture, history, philosophy, and theology; particularly that of Japan. I
am a practicing Japanese Shingon Buddhist and have been all of my life. I've
also studied and practiced several Japanese Martial Arts styles. This intimate
knowledge gives my work a depth and breadth that few others have in the Reiki
community. I know it because I live it.
